Muley Point is at the tip of Cedar Mesa on the west side of UT261. Access from the south is up the Moki Dugway.
The Dugway may look intimidating, but tractor/trailers run it all day.
Why bother with such a remote location down a dirt/gravel road? Here are a few reasons.
If this did not convince you, this Blog is not for you.
BTW, there is Verizon service and a dozen HD channels.
Cedar Mesa has several canyons with some of the best Indian ruins to be found. You will need a high clearance vehicle and decent agility on the trails as talus and drop-offs are common. Research before you go, as BLM is charged with protecting the ruins, not providing you with information on how to access them. You can obtain necessary permits at the ranger station on Cedar Mesa.
